What is Industry 4.0 about ?

Industry 4.0 - a trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing and supply chain that is currently revolutionizing the way companies design, manufacture, and market their products has emerged as a priority in recent times in parallel with the subject of sustainability that has become a global issue.

This is not surprising as it has a reasonably broad scope and palpable implications for global prosperity not only in the manufacturing sector but also in other key areas that determine the overall health of the global economic outlook such as marketing, tourism, hospitality, and legal infrastructure.

Achieving sustainable development in today's dynamic global business environment marked by new digital technologies that improve productivity but also create enormous challenges for corporations, development partners, and communities is an endless field of research.

The real impact of Industrie 4.0 !
The role and impact of corporations on sustainability have been front and center in social discourse and board rooms alike. In developing and emerging markets in Africa, Industry 4.0 and the sustainability of the consumer at the micro-level is important to support the sustainability of businesses at the meso-level, which is ultimately important to support the sustainability of the governments at macro-level.
At the same time, the industrial sector has the incentive, operational know-how, scalability, and ingenuity to respond to the dynamic global challenges on four fronts that we face today: social, economic, environmental, and cultural. This is creating pressure on businesses to contribute to the sustainability goals in their business deliberations especially after the COVID-19 period when several challenges and opportunities have arisen for markets in Africa.
