Business According to African Elites

This AABD Webinar series features successful and accomplished African leaders from a variety of business and academic sectors. Invited speakers are asked to share their thoughts on current challenges and problems facing African business, discuss how African business can compete in the global knowledge economy, as well as stimulate conversations about possible solutions for the challenges and problems.

As noted by a famous son of Africa, Chinua Achebe, “until the lions have their own historians, the history of the hunt will always glorify the hunter.” Inspired by this wisdom, several visionary African scholars in the diaspora founded AABD in 1998. Their goal was to hold symposia, forums, and conferences, as well as establish publications to shape the narrative on Africa business and contribute to transformation of Africa. Thus far, AABD has successfully organized over 20 international conferences and its official publication, Journal of African Busines, has established itself as one of the world’s leading journals for African business research.

This webinar series is part of AABD’s efforts to be an inclusive and impactful organization for scholars, business practitioners, consultants, policy makers, and business students. The goals of the webinar series are to stimulate constructive discussions among participants, inspire research ideas, help formulate policies, and address African business challenges.
